Roland Froschauer At Work

Meet Roland Froschauer

More than Photography

In his work, the Austrian photographer Roland Froschauer expands the boundaries of a traditional medium with innovative techniques such as lenticular printing and 3D printing. His works combine classic photography with digital elements, creating an interactive experience where the image changes depending on the viewing angle. This technique allows light and movement to be experienced in a new way, transforming the flat image into a dynamic, multi-layered reality.

Froschauer plays with the element of light, which not only illuminates the subjects but also becomes the content itself—sometimes subtle and fluid, sometimes dramatic and formative.

His artistic portfolio ranges from simplified landscapes to details from nature and urban environments. The lenticular prints lend these works an additional dimension by dynamically and interactively depicting the fleeting moment. This multi-layeredness challenges the viewer not only to see the image but to experience it and rediscover it again and again.

With his work, Roland Froschauer opens up new perspectives of perception and shows that photography is more than just looking through a lens—it is a way to understand and feel the world.

Biography:

Roland Froschauer grew up with a camera—but it wasn't his own. He accompanied his father on countless photographic trips, patiently carrying tripods and lenses, without ever being forced to take pictures himself.

His late entry into photography was preceded by a solid education in prepress and reprographics. Attending the Graphic Arts School in Vienna was therefore both a requirement and a privilege before joining the family printing business. His photographic career includes a master photographer's certificate, QAP certification, and several years as an ambassador for Hasselblad's legendary V-World Circle and a Phocus Expert Member.

In the Lichtschreiber studios and around the globe, Roland Froschauer works on his artistic projects, which are based on both photographic experiments and meticulously planned shots.
